Hello!

Since I've been encountering the error I mentioned above more frequently, I searched the forum and found this:
I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.
Mine is already MJ02, but it has an MK60, so it *might* fit. Before I let icon_smile.gif put a new sensor on, who wants to sell me one, I thought I'd try adjusting something. However, I can't really make sense of the solution description. Do I need a new switch, or is it enough to just readjust it? (If so, how exactly? Or should a software engineer not try to do it?)

Can you do something like what's described in this thread?

I had the same problem. I simply removed the brake light switch and reinstalled it as described, and it worked.

Wonderful, thank you for the answer! Now, let's get to work...

Hello pschaefer,

Have you fixed the error yet?
"I'm experiencing the same issue: the ESP light is intermittently illuminating with the error code 01435 008, indicating a problem with the brake pressure sensor (G201). I also have the Teves MK60 system installed. I already removed and reinstalled the brake light switch, following the instructions, but the error hasn't cleared. The error reappears every few days, immediately after the engine starts. After turning the engine off and on again, the ESP light goes off. I'll start by replacing the brake light switch, as it shouldn't be too expensive. If that doesn't help, I'll have to investigate the G201 sensor."
Do you know how much the G201 costs, and where it's located, or how to install and remove it?

By the way, you also have an automatic transmission. I believe the problem only occurs if you press the brake pedal before starting the engine. (I always do that automatically because I almost never use the handbrake when parking). Can you confirm this?

Best regards,

I also installed/removed the switch, and since then, everything has been quiet... But that doesn't necessarily mean anything, because the error also only appeared sporadically in my case.

Unfortunately, no - I was planning to do that only if the switch didn't work. I didn't even ask the friendly person.

I do the same. My handbrake is practically unused icon_wink.gif.

The warning light definitely *NEVER* came on while driving. Either it would illuminate almost simultaneously with "ignition on," or it would turn on during the first few meters when pulling out of the garage. I only engage the ignition with my foot on the brake (which I've always done - once I forgot and was quite surprised that it still started...).

Regards,
Peter.

The brake pressure sensor costs approximately 75 euros.

Before you exchange it, take a look here.

Okay, the long-term experiment is over.

After repeatedly removing and reinstalling the brake light switch, as described and recommended in most online discussions, the frequency of the error has decreased, but the problem has not completely disappeared.

Therefore, the brake light switch (1J0 945 511 B) was replaced as a precaution. In the meantime, this part has been superseded, with index B being replaced by index C, and index C being replaced by index D. So now it's 1J0 945 511 D, which costs approximately 8 euros. After that, the error and the ESP warning light never reappeared, and the problem was solved.

The changes to the part number suggest multiple hardware revisions for this component, and given the frequency of this failure in the production run, a design flaw seems likely – to put it bluntly.

Hopefully, this helps some people who are experiencing issues with their ESP lights.
