Hello,

I got the car from my mother, and this morning it happened at a traffic light.
I was at a red light and had just disengaged the clutch when suddenly the engine choked (with a strong jolt). The preheating indicator lit up briefly, then went out, and the engine ran normally again without any further issues. Then, just before the finish line, the same thing happened again.

I checked the error memory, but (there is) nothing stored there yet.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

The engine has 184,000 kilometers on it and had its timing belt, oil, fuel filter, etc. changed 4,000 kilometers ago.

Vehicle: GOLF IV TDI, manufactured in MJ99 (May 1999).

Please search for 109.

This is the number of the relay that powers the engine control unit.

On the other hand, you could have closed at 109 even with a drawdown if you had used the search function.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Okay, so far, the only issue I've personally experienced with the 109 is that the engine completely stalled and wouldn't restart. The preheating indicator also didn't light up. Additionally, the tachometer and speedometer would also stop working.

This time it definitely wasn't like that... a short, strong jolt... the engine speed dropped, then immediately went back up, and the glow plug indicator lit up briefly...
After that, everything was fine again...

//UPDATE:

This morning, the same thing happened again... only now there's an error message in the system.
