There are 3 glow plugs installed, which can be activated individually, in pairs, or all together depending on the temperature. You can test the glow plugs with a multimeter or remove them and test them with a battery to see if they glow. In the search function, you will also find a good explanation of the glow plug heating system in the PD (presumably referring to a specific device). My glow plugs were all defective at 180,000 kilometers, and I replaced them. I used standard M12x1.25 glow plugs with a 5mm thread connection, and I screwed on self-made adapters for the 4mm connection. These glow plugs cost me 20 Euros each from e***, while

wanted at least 27.50 Euros for one glow plug. Since the replacement, the PD warms up a bit faster below 5 degrees Celsius, but you can't really talk about proper heating power.
