Hello everyone,
'With the Ibiza 6K, many people (like myself in the past) have problems with...'
Creaking and cracking sounds, caused by a lack of rigidity.
The solutions include laminating various components.
different levels of amplification.
I have now replaced my standard shock absorbers with Bilstein Sprint B8s.
replaces (single-tube version in upside-down configuration).
My lowering springs: H&R, 30-35mm.
Ich kann sagen, dass mein Auto auf einmal kaum noch knarzt. This.
Shock absorbers are simply fantastic. They offer a great combination of sportiness and comfort.
Here are the shock absorbers that I have already replaced (installed myself) over a longer period of time:
(each with approximately 35mm H&R lowering springs, installed in a Volkswagen Golf 3 and a Seat Ibiza 6K).
- KW (sports suspension, not for DIY installation) - It's okay. Sporty, but Bilstein is more comfortable.
- Red Koni suspension - Good, especially when lowered. My favorite after Bilstein!
- Koni gelb - zu hart. Kopfwehgefahr! 'Whoever needs it...'
- Monroe Reflex: Super comfort, often leaks through -> poor quality.
- AlKo Road Gas (manufacturer of KW!) - Hardly any comfort, but still provides support! -> Poor.
- Apex: Comfort is good, but the wear is too fast.
- Kayaba Exel Gas (KYB) - Good comfort, but prone to rapid wear.
- Bilstein Sprint B8 - good comfort, currently my favorite.
The Bilstein Sprint is the ultimate masterpiece!
For me, there's nothing better than a Bilstein Sprint shock absorber and an Eibach or H&R spring.
With a maximum lowering of 40mm, it looks great, is perfectly suitable for everyday use, and is a lot of fun!
A 60/40 split, or even something lower, would restrict me too much.
