No oil temperature reading in VAG-COM - faulty G8 sensor?

"The oil temperature reading remains at 0.0% even after a long drive. Is the sensor defective? But wouldn't it then display an error? Is the G8 sensor located on the oil filter housing on the 9N AXR engine, or is it the 'Li' sensor located on the engine block?" Anyway, I couldn't find any loose cables or anything like that...

In the background, you can see the label file with the relevant line: 007,2 ... Is there possibly a programming error?

Well, if you simply take a label file and rename it, it can easily happen that the values don't match up. That's why it's also said that label files, which are actually intended to work with redirects, SHOULD NOT be renamed in order to maintain compatibility with older VAG-COM versions...

P.S.: Perhaps it would be helpful to contact the author directly next time; they might know more, or perhaps they already have a more recent version ready.

A forum member from the Saarland gave me a tip on where to find Labe files for my vehicle's registration number and engine code. Since I didn't have a second one to compare it to, I assumed it was correct. At least, my vehicle's information, including the engine code and kW rating, is listed in the header of the Labe file.
