Hi,
I have a Seat Leon with a 110 hp engine (engine code: ASV), and I'm having issues with the oil temperature.
Oil filter bracket; there was a blind screw directly below the oil pressure sensor.
'fülers, abgegriffen.' Now, a mechanic told me yesterday that...
one should measure the oil temperature better in the oil pan.
I have never seen oil temperatures exceed 105°C so far, not even during track days.
Highway at 160-170 km/h.
Where is the most informative location to measure the oil temperature?
'Where can I tap into it, or where is the oil warmest, the oil pan or the oil filter housing?'

So, the oil cooler bracket is where the standard mounting point for the multi-function displays (MFDs) is located. That should be quite accurate (the philosophy being: what temperature is truly 'correct'?).
In my car (G3 AFN), the oil temperature can sometimes reach 124°C when driving at full throttle and in warm weather. I don't think it can go any higher.

Hi,
just for your information.
I installed a second oil temperature sensor in place of the oil drain plug.
built-in.
Result:
The temperature in the oil pan is approximately 10°C to 15°C higher.
