Hello!

During today's vehicle inspection (ASU), my car (Golf III, 1997, 158,000 km) showed the following:
Idle speeds ranging from 4920 to 4990 RPM. During the last technical inspection in 2004, it was slightly...
higher, and in 2002 (according to the previous owner's inspection report), it was 5150 RPM.
Assuming the previous owner didn't have a chip implanted, I would like to...
to know what the reason might be.

Currently, I'm experiencing intermittent limp mode issues (the first acceleration after...).
to deal with - perhaps the ASU (Abgasuntersuchung - emissions test) took place in emergency mode.
You can actually pass it, there was a thread about that before...

Greetings,
Klaus.

Hello!

In the event of an emergency stop, an error message is logged -> Check and resolve the possible cause.

Otherwise, driving on the highway for 30 minutes with a fuel consumption of 8-11 liters per 100 kilometers seems to work wonders!

Yes, thank you for the response. Regarding the emergency mode issue, I'm somewhat in agreement.

VTG).
I was interested in the technical background related to the charging speeds.

Greetings, Klaus.

@clause:

Have you ever thought about the methods used for speed measurement and the tolerances that arise in the process?

IMO, a measurement tolerance of 100 1/min is definitely achievable with different exhaust gas testers.

Alex.

I think so too.
The largest discrepancy in Klaus' figures is 230 rpm.

If this wasn't definitely determined using the same tester (without recalibration in between), I claim that the actual rotational speed was within +/- 20 rpm, and the rest are "measurement errors."

Same here. Did you pass the AU exam on the first attempt?

Hello!

Did you pass the AU exam under emergency conditions?

Was that a question?
If so, all I can say is: The assessment was passed, regardless of whether an emergency procedure was used.
I can't say that (due to the lack of LDA). As I mentioned in my first post, it's "maybe."

Greetings,
Klaus.
