Hi, now that VAG-COM is finally able to access group 000...
If you are logging data, it may be worthwhile to use this raw data.
Does anyone happen to have the conversion factors for a 1Z (021BF) engine?
Or is an AFN readily available?

Thanks in advance.

Happy Sunday.

Best regards, Rudi.

Hi,

Thank you for your support, but I already icon_cool.gif have the table.

What I'm looking for are the conversion factors to convert from the values of...
Bringing Group 0 back to 'normal' values.

Here's what I've quickly figured out so far (LL, warm engine):

Field 1
Speed/Revolutions per minute (RPM)
Group 0: 43
Actual value: 903 rpm.
Factor 21.
Offset 0.

Field 2
Start spraying.
Group 0, pages 46-53.
Actual value: 0.8..1.5°
Factor 0.1
Offset 38.

Field 3
Pedal position.
Group 0 0
Real value 0.
Factor.
Offset.

Field 4.
Fuel injection volume.
Group 0, sizes 18-20.
Actual value: 3.6-4 mg.
Factor 0.2
Offset 0.

Field 5
Boost pressure.
Group 0 101
Actual value: 1020
Factor 10.
Offset 0.

Field 6.
Air pressure.
Group 0, 205.
Actual value: 1020
Factor 5.
Offset 0.

Field 7.
Coolant temperature.
Group 0, 75.
Actual value: 83.7°C
Factor.
Offset.

Field 8.
Intake air temperature.
Group 0 167
Actual value: 24.3°C
Factor.
Offset.

Field 9.
Fuel temperature.
Group 0 132
Actual value: 45.9°C
Factor.
Offset.

Field 10
Air mass.
Group 0: 142-147.
Actual value: 472-495 mg.
Factor 3.33.
Offset 0.

Best regards, Rudi.

I don't understand that now icon_redface.gif.

If I check my own results and compare them to the list, I can tell whether I am within the acceptable range or not.

You can't really do much more with group 00.

or ?!

Sure, here's the translation:

'MFG' is an abbreviation for 'Mit freundlichen Grüßen,' which translates to 'Sincerely' or 'Best regards' in English.

The data in group 0 are raw data. My engine control unit (021BF) is failing during the...
Group 0 is logging at a sampling rate of 2.6, which means it's recording the ten most important data points approximately every 0.4 seconds.
'As-is' values (arranged in a somewhat chronological order).

The problem is that the delivered values are not directly interpretable.
are. Therefore, I would like to convert the values to their 'actual' or 'real' values.

Best regards, Rudi.

Hi Rudi,

Perhaps the following will be helpful:

All the temperatures (water, air, and diesel) that I have recorded so far are divisible by 0.9.
The resolution is also 0.9°C.

Together with your number pairings, it should be possible to calculate the complete sequence from that...?

P.S.:
Your emails from last week have arrived.
It will still take some time icon_wink.gif to answer them all.
Gruß Ulf

Hello!

I have been following the posts here with great interest and have a few small technical questions.

How can I find the conversion factors for a vehicle (specifically, an Audi A8 TDI)? Are they located somewhere in the VAG-COM label files, or is there a list/table available somewhere?

Does VAG-com output the raw data directly if you remove the label file? Then we could easily calculate the factors...

Thank you in advance for your help.

The conversion factors are only available in the dataset.
You won't get anywhere with VAG-COM.
The label files are just labels.

Best regards,
Rudi

That means the values would remain the same even without the label file, and...
"Only the data labels would be missing?"

So, it ultimately comes down to translating the data into "correct values."
Does it refer to the label file (and therefore also to the vehicle type)?

Unfortunately, I won't have another opportunity until Monday.
to play around with something...

Sure, here's the translation:

"Best regards."

Michael.
