Hello everyone,

'I've been experiencing audible whistling noises while driving, particularly when decelerating or releasing the accelerator. It's difficult to say whether this also occurs under load due to the engine noise (1Z). Sometimes, this is accompanied by a rattling sound.'

The transmission oil has already been changed (thank you for the FAQs in this regard).

During the transmission oil change, I didn't find any metal shavings – so far, so good.

When jacking up the vehicle and rotating the wheel back and forth (on the transmission side), clicking noises can be heard coming from the side cover of the transmission (in the 'P' gear position).
I find them quite loud, although I don't have a reference point to compare them to.

Can anyone comment on this?

Thank you in advance to all who are helping.

If you're referring to the automatic transmission, it whistles for me too. It happens when I'm driving on the highway between 100 and 150 km/h (above that, it's drowned out by wind noise). Strangely, it only happens when torque is being transmitted; if I release the accelerator pedal, it goes away.

I also hear a clicking sound when turning it back and forth, even with the manual transmission. That's probably just the gear play, which should be normal to a certain extent.

Driving behavior when decelerating/releasing the accelerator

'Mine doesn't make any noticeable noises. It only makes a slight hissing sound when accelerating at low RPMs...'

Best regards, Nebelwerfer.

'Yes, as I mentioned, I can hear it in every driving situation when I release the accelerator. When driving at a higher speed and the automatic transmission downshifts, as soon as I release the accelerator and lose speed, there's a whistling sound coming from the transmission area, related to the engine speed, which initially gets louder and then gradually decreases.'

'This wasn't here before, so there must be a reason for it... a reason that needs to be fixed?'
