Hello everyone,
I'm trying to establish a connection using VDS-PRO and a HEX-COM interface. Unfortunately, the software always tells me that there is no connection.
It's not a problem with VAG-COM 512, but I'd like to use the VDS-PRO to modify values in the EEPROM... do you have any idea why there's no connection?
--> OS: WIN XP PRO

Do you mean that ancient DOS tool?
It's been a while since I've worked with that. Back then, regardless of the interface...
No chance with XP.
Besides that, HexCom is intelligent. I'm not sure if it fits into a...
The bypass mode is activated if it is not addressed directly.
Which locations in the EEPROM do you want to write to?
Best regards,
Rudi

Okay, I have a HEX-COM and a KKL interface available... I'll try using a DOS boot disk.
I would like to program the window opening and closing functions in the comfort control unit to be controlled via remote control.
EDIT: It was due to WINXP... I could access it using DOS and modify the dataset .

Yes, it worked... Now the windows can be controlled via the FFB (Force Feedback Board).
However, this comfort control unit, part number 1C0 959 799 F, is required.

This works with most of the Generation III comfort control units (1C0-959-799), but always at your own risk – at least one case is known where it failed, resulting in the need for a new comfort control unit.
A HEX-COM operates in a "dummy" mode as long as it is not used with VAG-COM. In this mode, it functions solely as a level shifter, allowing it to be easily used with third-party software.

That's interesting... so it should also work for other versions besides F, right? I'll have to see if I can find one to test.
Best regards,

Hello everyone,
I'm also trying to program my comfort control module with VDS-PRO so that I can open and close the windows using a remote control. I've obtained a cable. However, when I connect the cable to my nc6220 laptop (with an RS232 serial interface), VDS-PRO cannot establish a connection to the controllers. I've already tried all the COM ports (1 to 4) and checked in the BIOS whether the serial interface needs to be enabled (but there's no such option, so I assume it doesn't need to be activated).
OS: DOS (loaded from the CD).
"I need help figuring out what might be the problem. It's said that there are different types of KKL SERIAL DB9 cables, and some work while others don't."

Does this interface work with the older VAG-COM shareware under Windows?
Yes - Interface OK.
No other interface.
Does the COM interface work with a terminal program under DOS (by bridging pin 2 and 3, enabling echo)?
Yes - COM port is OK.
No , enable COM port (sometimes, special programs from the laptop are required for this).
Manufacturer required because the function was not configured in the BIOS setup.
If both are yes...

If you're using VCDS, it also works...
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate.
