Coolant Leak Coolant Hose 0-Ring Seal Leaking
Cause: Due to unfavorable tolerances of the individual components, coolant leakage can occur at the 0-ring seal of the coolant pipe in some cases.
Procedure:
If a coolant leak is detected in the "Coolant Hose to Engine Block" area, proceed as follows:
Vehicles before 03.99:
Install a modified coolant tube with a double O-ring.
Gearbox: Coolant hose No. 038 121 065 AM,
O-Ring No. 06B 121 687
Automatic: Coolant tube No. 038 121 065 AN,
O-Ring No. 06N 121 687
Vehicles up to 03.99:
Install a coolant tube with an additional mounting strap and a double O-ring.
Shift Lever: Coolant Hose No. 038 121 065 Q
for New Beetle Part No. 038 121 065 AP,
O-Ring No. 06B 121 687
Automatic: Coolant Tube No. 038 121 065 R
for New Beetle, Part Number 038 121 065 AQ,
O-Ring No. 06B 121 687
Before inserting the coolant hose, the insertion opening must be cleaned with a suitable tool (e.g., a cleaning wipe) and the O-ring should be lightly dampened with coolant. Subsequently, a leak test of the cooling system must always be carried out. Tschüss
