ATF leaks at the bottom of the gearbox

Cause:
Gear oil pan contamination. The actual cause, however, is often the main pressure closure screw.

Procedure:
Before replacing the oil pan gasket, be sure to first check the main pressure seal screw above the oil pan for oil leaks. If there is a leak at the main pressure seal screw, replace the screw with part number N 904 142 01 and tighten it to 15 Nm. After the test drive, check the main pressure closure screw for tightness.
