Hello!
I identified the correct connections myself (by working from the rear, accessing them through the connector plugged into the control unit / by pushing the sealing plug out from the rear beforehand).
1. Using my multimeter and a 220 V / 7w light bulb as a series resistor (690 ohms when cold), I initially checked the
unconnected inputs on the control unit against ground. I was able to exclude all contacts that had 5, 7.5, or 12 V as potential contacts for triggering.
2. Then I went through the remaining (
unassigned) contacts with the resistor, this time against

2 volts and without a multimeter. In parallel, I checked the switching status with VAG-COM and monitored field 3 in measurement value block 6, keeping it at 000001 (GRA=ON).
3. Now, I have connected the black wire to terminal 15 (switched positive) on the steering column switch, and the white wire to the contact point I just identified.
4. Now set GRA to ON and, as described in step 2, search for the set and reset points while observing the VAG-COM readings.
Here's the meaning of the VAG-COM codes in field 3 of the MWB6 data.
000000 Cruise control off.
000001 Cruise control on.
000101 Button pressed.
001001 RES Position
100001 Clutch engaged.
010001 Brake applied.
I haven't figured out the PIN number myself yet. However, I will find out and post it here.
