Hello everyone.
I'm new here and I've probably tortured the search function countless times.
I'm having a problem with my Passat AFN, which has a 110 hp engine.
My engine is making a terrible knocking noise.
A friend read the error codes from my car's computer, and we found error code 00550 17-10.
Okay, there's a lot of stuff in the search results.
"My problem is that the injection timing is approximately 25 degrees before top dead center (TDC), which is a bit too early. Also, the value in menu 000 (or whatever it's called) is always at 255, which probably isn't ideal either."
Can anyone offer some advice before I send my Volkswagen Passat to the junkyard using an old Native American ritual?

Andi.

The N108 or its cable are already with the Native Americans.

Please look for part number N108; that's the injection start control valve.

Regarding the AKU (1.7 SDI) engine in the Seat Arosa... and a friend of mine experienced the same issue.

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

Can I replace the filter without replacing the entire ESP unit?
I just took a look at it... does it lack a diesel filter and an alternator?

Do you know that it's not the cables but the valve that's causing the problem?

Have you found the thread with all the pictures of the Seat Arosa?

Are the images still accessible? It's possible that they were located on a server that is no longer reachable.

If you have the link, please post it here.

Unfortunately, I haven't found it.
I used an ohmmeter to test it - it's working correctly.
"tension also fits."
I also checked the cables (the ones I could find).
"And I also performed a test using a diode tester (though with a digital device), and checked the voltage readings using the VAGCOM diagnostic tool."

Do you happen to know the price of that thing, or maybe a part number?

Me again.

I still need your help with my awful N108 valve.
I bought it (genuine VW Super Andi).
I was actually quite sure because the valve never showed any problems during the VAGCOM diagnostic tests.
After trying for what seems like an eternity today and failing to remove the old ESP, we're taking it out tomorrow.
Suddenly, I hear a clicking sound coming from the 108 when I run the test.
However, nothing changes when the engine is running.
Is the 108 a valve with two end positions, or does it actually regulate something?
"I always see approximately 25 degrees Celsius before the injection start, and in measurement block 000, the second digit is always 255."
due to my search, it should be the 108 fault, but I'm becoming less and less certain icon_cry.gif.

Please, please, please... Andi.

Hi there,

I experienced the same thing, but without any error messages.
Also, the injection timing was set to early, and it was the infamous crankshaft bolt. Even though I still can't figure out how it could have come loose after being set to "early."

Greetings,

We replaced the valve today, but of course, that wasn't the problem.
Then, I took the pump apart again, and in a fit of grandiose delusion, I completely disassembled it into a thousand tiny pieces. (The more parts that fell off the pump, the more beer I needed - but the others had a lot of fun [at my expense]).
A piston in the lower part of the pump had a crack on one corner and was stuck.
They cleaned everything and reassembled it (I have no idea how, but it was quite amusing for me).
However, it now only starts after a prolonged period of organ use and lacks power from the bottom end.
I'll take it to a Bosch service center tomorrow and hope for the best, or does anyone have any better ideas?

"Saufen" (drinking) and "schrauben" (tinkering/fixing) both start with "s", but otherwise they don't really go together, especially when you're taking apart an ESP guitar (not with a hammer, because you want it to work again).

Since we no longer know what modifications were made to your car, we can't help you anymore.

I feel like I'm being made a fool of.
