When performing an actuator diagnosis and the relay for the glow plug system is activated, do the glow plugs actually ignite for that duration?
Regardless of the outside temperature, right?
Normally, you would also notice that the interior lighting dims briefly, or am I mistaken?
The relay is clicking perfectly for me, but there are absolutely no other indications that the glow plugs are actually heating up.
Unfortunately, I also can't reach the connector of the coolant temperature sensor to disconnect it and thus simulate a cold engine; it's installed in such a way that my arms are simply too thick .
Well, I hope you have some ideas about that.
Oh, before I forget, I checked the fuse (80A) and it's fine!
Best regards, Tobi. A6 Avant 3,0TDI Tiptronic Bj. 02/2008

Sure.
They then glow like a traffic light: on-off-on-off...
Or rather, they are getting power. However, when they are broken, they don't consume any power, and you notice nothing at all with the interior light.
I experienced the exact same phenomenon with my Leon: three spark plugs were defective, but it had no effect on the interior lights.
Simply measure the resistance of the resistors. They have a cold resistance of approximately 0.8 ohms.
Since Rainer doesn't have it in stock, I would recommend dieselsend.de.
I've bought things there many times before. It's really fast.

Then I'll definitely have to try measuring those little buggers.
Normally, they don't really start to glow until around 5°C, if I remember correctly. But do you know if they will afterglow after startup at our current temperatures, which are around 12-15°C, due to exhaust emissions?
I'm still having the problem with my rough starting behavior and, in general, extremely pungent exhaust fumes when idling. A6 Avant 3,0TDI Tiptronic Bj. 02/2008

There's always a "glow," no matter how dry and desert-like it is outside (that's what I heard).
You can tell if the preheating is working by looking at the light in the cockpit. If it turns off immediately after turning the key to the "Ignition on" position, then there's nothing wrong. Otherwise, it stays on for longer or even flashes briefly before turning back on again.
Thanks to the clipped power rail, the "Scheisserchens" were measured in approximately 1.62 minutes.
The power rail needs to be clipped back on securely - just before your finger joints break, it's finally tight .

Not bad!
Should I consider getting one myself, especially at this time of year? A6 Avant 3,0TDI Tiptronic Bj. 02/2008
