Hello fellow DIY enthusiasts!

How do you verschandeln these sealing surfaces? I have the feeling that my Hazet scraper is no longer state-of-the-art ("if it's not dead, it's still scraping today"). How do workshops do it (VW only needs 3.5 hours for installation and removal of the Zyko)? Exactly how do you perform this cleaning process (sealing all channels 100% to prevent dirt, removing the last atom, etc.)? Thank you in advance icon_idea.gif.

Best regards, Christian.

Hello,

I actually just plug the oil channels. The dirt that falls into the openings for the coolant or intake channels, I flush out later with a garden hose. It takes a little while, but I don't do it every day. What was more problematic for me was getting rid of any sealant residue between the pistons and cylinder walls. In that case, I simply stuffed verschandeln rags in there and did one cylinder at a time.

Best regards, Rainer.

VW only needs 3.5 hours for the installation and removal of the Zyko.

But of course, only if the replacement part is fully assembled (with valves, camshaft, etc.). That might actually work (since we only need to verschandeln the block icon_smile.gif).

To remove gasket debris, you can use a large, fine brass wire brush. I've also used sandpaper in a pinch before. You just have to be careful. But it's not ideal. Otherwise, simply stuff the cylinders with paper. And if something accidentally falls into the system, it's not that bad. It just shouldn't be too big or too abrasive. icon_lol.gif
