Hi everyone,
regarding my Passat Variant 3B AFN + P-Box from PSI (

(6 kW), mileage
It was missing 'down low' power, approximately 50 TKM. It never really ran like a TDI, so I gave it a new air mass meter and PSI box at the beginning of the year. That helped a bit, but not really. (Of course, I had it checked out at the VAG workshop, but the mechanic said everything was fine, so I believed him)
So, I just got a rental car because someone rear-ended mine (A4 Variant, 130 hp) - the difference in acceleration, especially at low speeds, was SO DRASTIC that I'm sure something is wrong with my car. When I drove the A4 for the first time, I could really feel the significant power increase that occurred around 1300 upm after engaging the turbo – a sensation that wasn't present in my Passat. Furthermore, with the A4, I only needed to move the accelerator pedal in the first third of its travel to achieve good acceleration. In contrast, with my Passat, I need to press the pedal all the way to the end of its travel to get any noticeable acceleration.
Also, the Passat's engine sounds louder and 'rougher.'
Otherwise, the Passat exhibits the following behavior:
- slight smoke (more light-colored) when starting and accelerating with little gas
- slight smoke (dark-colored) when fully loaded on the track (only visible in the headlights of following vehicles)
- starts reliably and doesn't jerk
- reaches its maximum speed Approximately 210 km/h (according to the speedometer) with the box, very slow, but it works
- Without the box, I reached a Vmax of 195 km/h (according to the speedometer)
- The DZR values are slightly below the 'target'
- During the last inspection, the following error was in the fault memory:
01268 035
Flow sensor - N146
which was attributed to the box.
- Sometimes the engine does not respond to the accelerator pedal, for example, I am driving on the highway at a constant speed and then give it a little more gas, but nothing happens. If I press it further, it suddenly gains momentum with a 'jerk'. This happens very rarely).
What would you suggest I do? Since the car objectively seems to be in 'okay' condition (Vmax) and my descriptions of the problems are more subjective, I will probably just get a 'everything is fine' response from the mechanic. Unfortunately, I myself have two left hands and can't do much.
Perhaps someone of you from my area (Bad Zwischenahn) could come and recommend a COMPETENT mechanic?
Any interpretations of what the cause of the problem could be?
Other ideas?
Sorry for the long essay, but I wanted to provide as much information as possible.
Hoping for good advice/ideas,
Jens
