Hello,
"Has anyone had experience with the issue of the adjustable turbocharger in a Mitsubishi L 200 manufactured in October 2003?"
The people at Mitsu clearly have no idea what they're doing and are just experimenting.
Regarding the issue:
The L 200 K60T has a turbocharger with adjustable vanes. For about 1 1/2 years, Mitsu has installed a fantastic software update that regulates the engine's power by reducing fuel supply when the turbocharger reacts slightly late and the pressure is 3 seconds above the permissible limit. Before this unnecessary update, there was no such time window, and the engines ran much smoother and more fuel-efficiently. Since this update, the engine almost over-regulates itself and hinders its own performance. In other words, when accelerating, the turbocharger activates, and at maximum pressure, the engine control unit reduces the turbocharger's pressure by adjusting the vanes using a vacuum actuator. If the turbocharger does not react immediately, the engine control unit intervenes in the fuel supply and reduces the power output to prevent the engine from producing "too much" power ("Is there even such a thing as too much power?").
Okay, then the turbo will detect the lack of power and fully engage again, the pressure will spike, and... exactly, the control unit will reduce the fuel injection, and so on, and so on, and so on...
"Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it possible to modify anything on the turbo? Or can anyone reprogram the engine control unit (ECU) for me? I know that reprogramming is possible, but I'm looking for someone who can do it."
Thank you, best regards, Bernd.

Hello,
genau das hab ich mir auch gedacht, geht aber leider nicht. Die Mitsuh-Händler können nur Updaten. Wwhatever the reason may be???
Thank you for your advice, nonetheless.
Best regards, Bernd.

I would focus more on the adjustability and ease of operation of the VTG (variable turbine geometry) rather than trying to disable the error detection in the engine control unit. You can find plenty of information about VTG in the forum that you can apply to your engine.
Good luck.
