Gear Ratio & Axle Ratio Audi A3 TDI 81kw

Hello everyone,

Does anyone have the gear ratios and axle ratio values for an Audi A3 with 81 kW (AHF engine) and an EBF manual transmission? The car was manufactured in 1998 and is a 1999 model year.

Okay, I can give you the specifications for the VW Golf IV with the AHF engine and EBF transmission. Since the A3 uses the same platform, I believe the data should be the same. In fact, the specifications are identical for the Seat model that uses the same platform.

I didn't note down the reverse gear ratio, but I think it was something like 3.6...

Don't forget the tire size or rolling circumference in this game.

If they differ significantly (e.g., Golf 3 vs. Golf 4), it is highly likely that the gear ratios of the transmission are also different.

While theoretically a different axle ratio would be sufficient to compensate for the tire size.
