Hello everyone,

I'm having a problem with the ESP system in my Volkswagen Golf 4 TDI, 90 hp, manufactured in [year].
10/2001. After a later installation of a GRA (presumably a device or system), I had...
Wickelfeder zerstört ( Mittelstellung nicht beachtet). I now have...
A new one has been installed, but the error cannot be cleared.
The following is stored in memory:

VAG-COM Version: DRV 311.3-S

ECU Part Number: 1C0 907 379 E
Component of version: ESP FRONT MK60 0104
Software coding: 0019458
Workshop number: WSC 01317.
"One error found:"
00778 - Steering angle sensor (G85).
005 - No or incorrect initial setup/adjustment.

I've also found some information in this forum regarding instructions and login codes; see here:

/viewtopic.php?t=524&highlight=steering angle

"The problem I'm having now is that I have a different control unit and the login code is different. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? I was actually planning to go to VW, but what's the point of buying the interface if I have to do that? If anyone knows a solution, please let me know."

Best regards, Danilo.

I found the correct information in the US Bentley CD. Based on the table of contents, it seems like you would also find it in erWin. This Teves Mk-60 system is very similar to the Bosch system mentioned in the link from the previous message; the procedure and login code are the same, but the basic setting channel is 060.

Hello Uwe,

It worked; the errors have been cleared. Everything was correct, including the default channel setting of 060.

But what about the US Bentley CD ?

"Thank you!!!"

Best regards, Danilo.

I just found it interesting that this information isn't available in the usual sources. It only says: 'No longer applicable, only available in the VAS system during guided troubleshooting.' But in the US Bentley CD for the fourth-generation Golf, it was...icon_smile.gif

hello

I installed a GRA (glow relay assembly) in a VW T5 Multivan with a 2.5 TDI engine.
Now I need to perform this calibration. How does the procedure differ for the car mentioned above?

Best regards, Josef.

Here's the solution to the riddle:
The steering angle sensor (G85) was installed rotated by 360 degrees, which can be seen in the ABS control unit within measurement block 4.

-> Remove the steering wheel and rotate the steering sensor to the correct position, then reassemble everything.

Please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English.

Select STG 03 (ABS).
STG Login -> Function 11.

Login code: 40168

ECU sensor data blocks -> Function 08.

Measurement group 060 (sensor for steering angle - G85).
Turn the steering wheel at least 15° to the left and right, then return the steering wheel to its straight position. Now, perform the basic adjustment. Subsequently, check the zero position of the sensor in measurement block 4, value 1; the target value is between -1.5° and icon_smile_thumb_up.gif.5°.
After the initial setup, drive a short distance straight ahead at a speed of 15-20 km/h; during this time, the steering angle sensor (G85) learns the straight-ahead position.

Go to default settings.

Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the text you want me to translate from German to English.
