Hello,
Could someone please tell me which car models use or will use the Bosch EDC-17 engine control unit?
Does the new C-Class already have the CDI320?

The EDC 17 was introduced in 2006, so you can be fairly certain that it's installed in the new Mercedes-Benz.

And the W203/W209/W211 models were equipped with the ones I mentioned.

Hello,
I had a W204 320CDI (December 2006, from the Pro3 series) with a common-rail III system, a particulate filter, and 2 Oxi-catalysts. However, it was one of the earlier models from the Pro3 series and still had an EDC16XXX engine control unit.
Currently, they are used in the Audi A4 2.0 TDI, the new Polo, and the Roomster.

I don't understand. What do you mean by "Avantar"?
"I'm getting different opinions now. Will the new C320CDI, if I order it in the next 2 months, have the EDC-17 engine control unit?"
How can the buyer identify this?

Hello,
The Quote: | | A5 with the 3.0-liter common rail engine producing 240 hp, engine code "CAP" | , is apparently supposed to use an EDC17 system along with a new CAN diagnostic protocol.
Let's see, if I have the first A5 here...
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello everyone,
The C-Class W204 series now has a Delphi ECU... so, have fun with reading/writing and checksums.

Never!
BR204 models equipped with a V6 diesel engine (C320) have a Bosch EDC17CP0x control unit.

Hello,
Absolutely! There are quite a few things installed in the Prototype series, which is why I specified "Pro3," and it had an EDC16XXX with software version 3738XX.
If anyone wants to know the details precisely, I'd be happy to send them the dataset.
The 200/220 CDI models have been equipped with the Delphi ECU since the beginning of their production.
And in a relatively new car, manufactured in 04/2007, a 320 CDI, a Delphi unit was installed! And I had that lying on my desk .
Hardware 50.05 Proz. MPC563.
Since I only had the car on Saturday, I didn't have enough time to read the dataset.
News from Wuppertal...
"The new C-Class from Mercedes has recently been released. What is largely unknown nationwide is that many of the innovations in this new car come from Wuppertal, developed by the engineers at the automotive supplier Delphi."

I can hardly believe that there's a Delphi component in it.
I always thought it was Siemens or Bosch?
Normally, Mercedes vehicles are equipped with Bosch components. It seems unusual that they would produce one model line with Bosch and another with Delphi.

Okay, I don't need to justify what I saw... I didn't get my information from other forums or hearsay. I took the ECU out and saw it myself.
And Mercedes-Benz doesn't just use components from Siemens and Bosch... but some people might not know that.
My suggestion is to go to a car rental company and get a 320 CDI and take a look inside .
Happy Sunday!

@ schwabe
You should do some more research!
The BR204 with its V6 diesel engine used Bosch EDC17 throughout its entire development phase. If you don't believe me, I can gladly give you a presentation about engine control units!
You can also send me the software version, and then I can tell you which car (brand/model) I have read data from.
Delphi's engine control units are only used in the 4-cylinder diesel engines.

I've sorted it out.
The 6-cylinder engine definitely has an EDC-17 system.
Only the four-cylinder engines still have some parts from Delphi, at least for this year.
Greetings to all those who think they know better.
