Remove license plate

Hi,

How do you remove the rear license plate holder located between the taillights?
I mean the version where the sign itself is embedded in a plastic frame.
Since I'm not sure whether it's screwed onto the trunk lid, just clipped on, or fastened with retaining clips, I'd rather ask to be sure.
If you start fiddling with something without knowing what you're doing, you might break it.

You pull off the front, outer frame; that's where the license plate is located.
The mounting bracket behind it is attached to the trunk with 2 screws.
