Hello diesel enthusiasts!
I'm currently working on retrofitting an onboard computer into a 1993 Audi 80 B4 TDI. To do this, I need to measure the fuel consumption signal. Does anyone know if this is possible with the engine (1Z), or if I have to build something myself?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Andy,
For my vehicle's year of manufacture, the engine control unit sends the fuel consumption signal to pin 9 of the 68-pin connector.
I don't have an onboard computer, and pin 9 is also not connected on the cable side.
That means I definitely need to run an additional cable from the engine to the onboard computer.
Unfortunately, I have no idea if this also applies to the generation of '93, but it might be the case... Gruß Ulf

HI!
I only know that there are unfortunately different control units for the B4, and some of them may be suitable for this purpose while others are not. The question then is whether it's possible to generate the signal ourselves?
I once heard that someone did something like that, but unfortunately, I can't find their email address anymore.
So, if anyone has any idea how to generate such a signal themselves, please reply.
