Hi everyone,
The following problem occurred: On the highway, the WAPU (water pump) failed on my vehicle. Even immediately shutting off the engine couldn't prevent a head gasket failure...
Okay, since I plan to drive my car for a while longer, I'm going to get this fixed. The current mileage is 256,000 km, and I think it's probably time to replace these parts anyway. Now I'm essentially forced to do it because exhaust gases are leaking into the cooling system.
Für den AFN gibt es 3 unterschiedlich starke Kopfdichtungen zu erkennen an der Kodierung mit 1-3 Löchern im "Fähnchen" der ZKD, das in der Nähe des 1. ZylIt stands out from the rest.
I would like to have my cylinder head planned before assembly. The question now is:
- Does it make sense to use a more robust insulation material after planning the head (of a structure)?
to install?
I would then have the difference between the two gasket thicknesses machined away.
(Currently using a ZKD with 2 holes, would then switch to the thickest version with 3 holes.)
(to equip, to install, to furnish)
Is this a good approach, or does it depend on how much needs to be planned (how far back can the "original" part be reinstalled)? Or is the general rule to install a thicker part according to the agreed-upon price to avoid increasing the compaction?
Thank you and best regards.
Achim.
