Fuel Additives & DPF: Benefits and Risks

Hi.

I don't want to discuss the usefulness and effectiveness of various additives here, but rather their technical applicability.

For example, Liqui-Moly's diesel additives do NOT mention anything about the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), so I would not use them yet.

Does anyone know if these are permissible, or if they are "absolutely not" allowed to be put into a DPF tank?

The "SpeedTec-Diesel" (http://www.liqui-moly.de/web/lmhomede.nsf/pages/speedtec_diesel) mentions DPF ("But also the lifespan of the particulate filter can be increased as a result of the reduced clogging due to ash").

I've already poured it in... So, don't say anything now about my DPF

going up in flames...

Well, the lifespan of the DPF depends on the amount of ash entering it, and that cannot be influenced by an additive. Ash, which is a metal oxide, is always produced in the same amount, depending on the content of ash-forming substances in the oil (and diesel) and the consumption of both.
The number of uses and, consequently, the number of regeneration cycles can be influenced if the product is actually effective and there is a need for it.
