WFS cannot be programmed, no response from STG.

Hello.

Since I want to replace my engine control unit (ECU) for the Ibiza 6k ('98, part number Stg: 028 906 021 ek, wfs: 6H0 953 257 BX), I also need to have the WFS (Engine Control Unit) reprogrammed. Unfortunately, without success.
"I am able to access the Wfs Stg, however, once I click on 'Adaption', 'Login', or something similar, nothing happens or, if an action is supposed to be performed, such as reading a channel or entering a login code, nothing happens." There is no error message or anything like that; nothing happens at all.
Even with the old Stg, no reaction is detected.
Does anyone have any ideas what this could be and how to fix it?
I can easily access all other components, such as the engine.
I don't like them at all, because they only try to take advantage of me (subjectively) and in the end, I don't really get anything out of it.
