Hello!
Here's what I'm planning to do:
An ACV engine, an intake manifold from an AHY engine is being installed. This intake manifold has what is called a "throttle valve" in the intake tract. The base vehicle is a T4 manufactured in July 2000 (model year 2001), which was not originally equipped with this valve as standard.
"All T4 models produced from September 2000 onwards have this flap, so shouldn't it be possible to activate this flap even on a model produced in July 2000?"
Now, my question is:
According to the wiring diagram http://213.239.212.66/wiki/Ventil_N239_%28Saugrohrklappe%29, the valve necessary for control is activated by the engine control unit. Can my engine control unit actually do this? Does it possibly need to be reprogrammed? Or, in the worst case, is the ECU not even capable of performing this function? Or is it sufficient to simply connect the wire to the terminal?
Greetings,
Peter. VW T5 GP Multivan Startline CAAC 2,0 CRD 103 KW, Audi A2 1,4 16V AUA 2001, Audi A2 1,4 16V AUA 2003;Renault Zoe PHII 135 2020;

Habe gerade den Stromlaufplan für die Modelle ab 9/2000 (Seite 80/3) bekommen. Darin ist vermerkt, dass das Ventile N239 erst ab Juni 2000 verbaut wurde. Hmm, what now?

You can also generate the signal yourself if it is not present at the engine control unit (ECU).
The ACV should have at least an MSA15, which provides a delay.
With minimal logic, you can create a signal indicating that the shut-off valve is being activated, based on the conditions "ignition off" and "MSTG still on."
I experienced something similar with my 1Z. The forum should be full of ideas about it.
Please search for "Abstellklappe".

Thank you for the information.
What do you understand by "lag"?

Starting with the MSA15 model (at least the MSA12 model doesn't have this feature yet), the control units automatically switch off after a few seconds.
You can tell with the Golf 3 that the N109 relay only clicks later when you turn off the car. Until then, it can still do something (e.g., control the shut-off valve).
You can actually misuse the initial signal from the N109 to capture those few seconds during which the engine is off but the control unit is still active, specifically the signal needed for the shut-off valve.
The old ECUs immediately shut off the engine.

Hello.
Take a look at your vehicle's VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). If the 10th digit is a "Y", it's a model year up to 2000. If it's a "1", it's a model year 2001 or later.
That might explain why yours didn't have one (or wasn't working).
Okay, then my suggestion is to test the circuit starting from the MSG, since you already have a wiring diagram.
Take a look up there; on the T121 connector, at pin J 248 (MSG), pin 81 is designated for the N239. Originally, there's a 0.35mm brown/green wire connected to this pin. Simply use a multimeter to measure this pin and check if it's energized for a few seconds after the ignition is switched off.
If so, install the N239 cable and it should work.
However, it's possible that MSG doesn't support this feature, as there are 9 different MSG types in the T4 environment. These are all dependent on the FGN, and I suspect that there may be variations where some support it and others don't.
