I have heard that it is essential to replace the timing belt before starting the statutory health insurance (AU). But he can't explain it.

During the inspection, the engine is run at its maximum speed without any load. If I now fully utilize the rev range on the highway, won't that put a lot more strain on it?

In my chip-tuned AFN (305Nm), I had the timing belt replaced at 40,000 km by Audi. Do I have to get it replaced again 20,000 km before my original replacement interval? (I have personally changed the replacement interval from 90,000 to 60,000).

I would be very grateful for some information and testimonials!

Greetings

Manuel

Hi,

Force = Mass x Acceleration

In the Asu, the engine revs up very quickly within seconds, which you wouldn't be able to do, for example, in 3rd or 5th gear -> due to the inertia of the camshaft, ESP, and intermediate shaft, the timing belt is heavily stressed during acceleration (->due to forces).
Of course, high speeds are not ideal either... but in this case, only the friction between the shafts needs to be overcome, because the change in speed (=acceleration) is then not so high or 0 (maximum speed).
I cannot tell you exactly what the difference in power consumption is between the two cases.
At least, tuning increases acceleration values in general!!!!!

I believe you can still go on sick leave without any worries. I replace the timing belt when it has more than 60,000 km on it.
