Finally, I've started working on the cruise control system.

Everything is installed and wired... so far, so good.

Unlocked with VAG... the system also recognizes it.

It doesn't actually work.

Okay, I accessed the measurement data block... code 006 or 022, and I tested it.

For every power on/off and every button press, there are corresponding values.

Make the change as described in the instructions.

Cruise control off.

000001 Cruise control on.

000101 Button pressed.

001001 RES Position

100001 Clutch engaged.

010001 Brake applied.

Except for: 'Switch B in the 'OFF' position, before the power-on point.'
Nothing is happening... there are no bit changes.

It's just not working, somehow.

Something about the installation instructions suggests that the values should end with the number 11.
(example = 001011 RES position, and not like mine, 0010(0)1)
Does this missing bit have any significance, or is it simply dependent on the control unit (STG)?

Does anyone know what might be causing this?
PS: I used the search function and didn't find anything. Also, I haven't seen anyone else with the same issue.
Problem, but also without a solution.

The diagnostic tool provides an error message.
18097
Data bus, drive system: Implausible message from the central electronic control unit.
P1689 -35-00

Does anyone know what this could be?
I can't find anything about it online.

'It's likely that the wiring connection between the body control module (BCM) and the engine control module (ECM) is missing.'
