Hi.

I got a new laptop (with Windows XP) and, of course, immediately installed VAGCOM on it.
704.1RKS and the new beta: 711.1

The VAGScope works with the 711 device, and there aren't many other plugins available.

The 704 ala chef also includes a plug-in switch, but none of the three functions (Scope, Performance, and Fuel) work. They say that they cannot communicate with the VAGCOM.

What could that be?

Thank you.

Hi Martin,

Interesting question. It seems to be somehow related to the computer configuration. Since it works for me on XP, it's hard to understand. Is a personal firewall or something similar active? If so, have you already checked its logs?

LCode also works on my laptop.

Best regards, Rainer.

My first thought was also a firewall, but why does 711 work while 704 doesn't?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to disable it because it's a company-managed firmware.
However, according to the "Settings," both VAGCOM devices should be able to do the same thing.

I've now "released more".

How do the plugins communicate with the "mother" (or is that too secret)?

Okay, here's the translation:

"Hey, another question about VCDS (formerly VAG-COM). Where can I get a licensed version again?"
I bought a professional kit from this shop about 2 years ago, but unfortunately, I no longer have the CD that came with it, and I'm currently having trouble with the demo version.

Here's a small tip: If you hadn't disabled the newsletter, you would also know how software updates/new VAG-COM versions work. icon_wink.gif

Best regards, Rainer.

Unfortunately, the software/invoices, etc. have been destroyed (the Rosstech connector is luckily only slightly scorched but still works ^^).

Unfortunately, I no longer remember the exact email address I used to make that purchase.
Is it possibly possible to find that out using the delivery address?

Hopefully, the name will still be intact, right?

Late, but still feedback:

I can't say for sure, but it's most likely the firewall.

Interestingly, it blocked the 704 plugins (after the plugin switch), but VAGScope, accessed directly from 711, was not blocked (and this wasn't mentioned).

After I had given all the plugins all the necessary permissions, it finally worked.

Thank you.
