Hi.

I'm (once again) dealing with the issue of performing an ash mass balance on my Passat.

I would like to know if there is a code, similar to what exists for forced regeneration, that could be used to trigger this process.

Generally, I'm wondering if there's even a standard process for this. I can certainly adapt the ash mass (I've done so after "filter flushing"), but I'm not sure if that's the correct value. I can only estimate whether it's roughly accurate based on the soot loading value.

There's definitely a button labeled "Aschemasseabgleich" on the VW tester, and I could only find this adaptation channel using VAG-COM.

Surely, it should be possible to measure the ash content after fresh regeneration, but how?

"I mean, it's working now, more or less, with the current setting, but I'd still prefer to be absolutely sure."

Greetings.
Benni.

How is he supposed to measure that? Is he going to use a scale?
After replacing the DPF, the reading would be 0, which is clear.
Everything else is just pure calculation.

No, that is NEVER possible.
The ash mass is ALWAYS calculated starting from the first kilometer your car drives.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Okay, after the soot has been burned off, measure the differential pressure. It should give a defined value from "new" to "almost full".

The ash contained within the filter will also increase the differential pressure.

Besides, I have a VAG diagnostic report at home where the ash content was determined during a test drive. Or maybe I'm misinterpreting it.

It essentially says "determined ash content."
After that, the friendly entity will have the opportunity to write this value into the adaptation channel.
