Document A2 8Z0 MJ 2002, Problems with the Main Control Panel (Solution)

After repeatedly operating the electric window lifter (4-6 times), the system is no longer functioning, and the door seals are no longer able to open/close.

Cause:
In the window motor with the door control unit, a software-based thermal protection has been structurally integrated. This was designed so that the thermal protection system activates relatively quickly (after 4-6 activations).
If the ignition is turned off, the thermal protection system will not automatically reset, but the electronics will "remember" the last calculated temperature of the window motor.
When the vehicle is started, the last saved temperature value for the current cooling curve will be used. Therefore, the thermal protection system can also switch off earlier, even if the vehicle has been stationary for several hours.

Solution:
Replacing the door control unit on the left and right.
