Hi.
I don't usually like general questions, but there's no other way.
Can radiator fluid be added to diesel fuel?
This radiator oil comes from electric radiators and needs to be disposed of gradually.
Which diesel engine could handle something like that?
Does everything that is called poetry essentially dissolve into pleasant nothingness?

The owner of the oil doesn't drive a diesel car and is wondering who might need it.
Best regards, Frank.

Oh man, please don't do anything foolish... "disposal" is the key word, but not in a diesel engine. As long as the exact composition is unknown, or if it's been carelessly mixed from various makes/manufacturing years, etc., it's crucial to avoid such experiments. During the Yugoslav Wars, some people mixed radiator fluid into their diesel fuel because they had nothing else.
However, it was mixed with alcohol. This substance was reportedly used in tractors and their TAS Golf replicas.
But I still wouldn't advise you to do that, since we're not at war.
apart from the tax disadvantages.

It is likely that the oil used in radiators is transformer oil. It does not necessarily have to be (easily) flammable and could contain highly toxic PCBs.

In the worst-case scenario, especially during cold starts, highly toxic PCBs are released as an aerosol from the exhaust and contaminate the environment.

That was my thought as well! This material is supposed to be thermally stable and flame-retardant. As fuel for a reasonably modern diesel engine, it would certainly be difficult to obtain!

My main concern wouldn't be the high flammability, as if the combustion is incomplete, it tends to migrate into the oil and initially doesn't cause significant damage there.

My concern would be that it might become a source of toxins, potentially spreading a treacherous cancer-promoting substance along the roads. Who knows how old this stuff is? It could still contain PCBs from the 1980s.

Items from the 80s might still contain PCBs.

Hi.
I will forward your responses and specifically point out the sentence above.
Thank you for the quick responses.

Best regards, Frank.
