Audi 80 TDI, manufactured in 1994.

I also have a question about the 2x2 diagnostic connector.
I have a Passat, model year 1991, with a 2E engine and 115 horsepower.
He also has these two connectors underneath the control unit. Can I also query it using the diagnostic circuit shown on this page?
Do I absolutely have to use a VAG-COM device?
