Interior Mirror Adhesive Removal

Hi.

The rearview mirror has fallen off the Corsa B.
And I mean including the entire bracket, not just the clipped-off part.

On the pane, where he used to be stuck, there is nothing to indicate that he was ever there.
The "adhesive pad" on the mirror base is no longer sticky, but it is still smooth.

How do I get this thing back on?
So that it lasts longer?
Is it possible to buy the adhesive foot separately so I can re-insert the mirror?

Hello!

Pattex makes a type of instant adhesive called "GLASS" adhesive.
It's not cheap, but it's very sturdy - provided you follow the instructions!

We use an adhesive specifically designed for mounting glass break sensors on glass panes for alarm systems, and this adhesive even has VdS approval.

I would have suggested something similar. We had good experiences with this method when using it with the Ford Fiesta, which has the same principle of attaching the mirror to the rearview mirror. The printed adhesive surfaces that were present on the original windshields reliably hold the mirror in place with the adhesive pads. Windshields from the aftermarket parts trade did not have the printed adhesive surface on the glass. Some auto glass installers also used this instant adhesive to directly attach the mirror to the glass.
