Hello, I'm new to this forum.
I've looked through the contribution pages, but I couldn't find a suitable entry.
I'm having the following problem: After turbo damage on a Nissan Patrol with a ZD30 DDTI 3.0L engine, manufactured in 2002/2003 (2nd generation), the damaged catalytic converter was replaced with a pipe.
"Now that the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) connector is loose, I occasionally get an error message when the engine is cold or idling (it only disappears after restarting)."
Can someone tell me what voltage or resistance is required to supply to the connector to prevent this from happening?
I would appreciate it if someone could help me.
Thank you in advance, Karl.

If the control system isn't faulty, it compares the desired and actual air mass values. In that case, a replacement resistor for the actuator won't make any difference.
Therefore: Repair.
Best regards, Rainer.

Thank you for the quick response.
That means that without a catalytic converter, I have almost no chance of getting the error code to disappear...?
Could something be reprogrammed in the system so that it no longer reacts to that?
It seems like the engine characteristics aren't actually changing, it's just being displayed...?
Best regards, Karl.

Hello,
"On Opel vehicles, is the exhaust gas recirculation system connected directly to the catalytic converter? And which specific connector on the catalytic converter are you referring to?"
What error code is being stored?
At VAG Diesels, the EGR valve is connected before the catalytic converter, and there are no connectors or actuators located there. Only combined catalytic converters with DPF have differential pressure connections, temperature sensors, etc.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello again.
I can see that my current level of knowledge isn't enough; I need to really understand the system over the weekend.
I believe the EGR valve was controlled by a pressure sensor in the intake manifold, but I need to investigate that more closely.
I have to say that I'm not an expert, and I had imagined the process would be simpler...
I'll get back to you next time with the facts. Maybe there's a way to outsmart the system.
Thanks in advance, see you soon.
Best regards to everyone... Karl
