Shock Absorber Replacement: What Next?

After 202,000 kilometers, the shock absorbers need to be replaced.


The vehicle is an A4 1.9 TDI with 81 kW, manufactured in April 1998, and has a standard suspension.

I'm using Bilstein B4 gas dampers (since this is my grandparents' car - nothing sporty ).

In addition, we also offer service parts for the head assembly (pickup) and dust caps.

In addition, we are installing "used" suspension springs from 1.9 TDI models manufactured in 2000 – these have only been driven for half the mileage.


Should I replace any other parts right now?

If it's not sold as a complete set, in addition to the dust caps, there are also the buffer pads, which are essentially extra springs.

When it's already disassembled, I always try to include the strut mounts as well, since they're already taken apart.
