Today, during the inspection/oil change, I noticed that the motor is leaking oil from the hose between the intake manifold and the pressure regulator, specifically from the cylinder head ventilation system. It's not a lot of oil, but everything around it is oily.
Should I replace the pressure regulating valve and hose? They cost almost 40 euros, which is an investment that only makes sense if it actually solves the problem.
I just don't want him to a) spill everything all over the hood and b) constantly oil my intake manifold including the turbocharger.
The vehicle is the Ibiza from my signature below, with engine code ASV.
Greetings.
George.

I've cleaned it now, and nothing has been re-oiled for the last 100 km, but that was also the case recently.
Does anyone know anything about this valve?

Okay, I've had that ASV issue before too. But um...? Intake hose? Pressure regulator valve? Where is the pressure regulator valve on the intake hose?
and 'cylinder head cover ventilation,' are you referring to the PCV system? (Positive Crankcase Ventilation?)
The only explanation for what you mean could be the hose connecting the EGR valve to the intake manifold. That leaves the question of the pressure control valve.
*confusion*

| We have a 2001 ALH Ibiza, and the KGE (catalytic converter) also had issues - because an O-ring in a connection wasn't seated properly. I just made sure to insert it correctly into the groove, and since then, everything has been quiet = clean. Gruß Ulf

According to my SEAT technician, what I consider to be the crankcase ventilation system is actually located "below" the engine block and is referred to as the "cylinder head ventilation."
My large, round, black component on the cylinder head cover, with a hose leading to the intake manifold.
And this round component is called a "pressure regulating valve," and it costs around 11 euros from SDI, but about 41 euros from TDI.
I removed the valve and completely cleaned it with brake cleaner, then replaced the O-rings. So far, it seems to be sealing properly, and I feel like the car is running better – but that's probably just my imagination.
Hopefully it lasts.
