Okay, so I replaced both microswitches on the driver's and passenger's doors, as suggested.

Everything is now working correctly on the driver's side door (the door light is on, the warning sound is working, and the interior light also turns on).

I'm still having problems with the passenger-side door.

The door light on the passenger-side door still isn't working when I open it. ;(

2. If I unlock the doors and open the passenger door, the alarm system no longer activates after about 30 seconds (which it always did before the microswitch replacement). Now, after about 30 seconds, the car locks the doors again (is this normal). icon_sad.gif

The car doesn't lock when I do the same thing on the driver's door (basically, unlocking, opening, and waiting). It only locks when I leave the doors closed.

Please help if you can!

Greetings, Babapapa.

Yes, that's normal because the control unit doesn't recognize that the door is open. For the same reason, the door light also doesn't work. So, check why the microswitch, or its ground circuit, isn't working (the door light is also controlled via ground). Have you resoldered the cold solder joints on the circuit board, or checked the lock to see if it's functioning?

Take a look at the right-hand door wiring harness behind the trim panel. There might be a diode installed there that occasionally fails. While you're at it, check the wiring harness between the door and the body for any broken wires.

What type of diode is installed (model or designation)?

I'm asking because I want to know if it's broken and if I can possibly get a replacement from Conrad.

Best regards,

I can't tell you the exact part number, but it's available as an original replacement part from Volkswagen.

Hello everyone, I solved the problem by disassembling the lock again and rotating the microswitch 180 degrees before reassembling it (which makes sense since the lock is assembled in a mirrored configuration).

So, to everyone who still has this task ahead of them.

Mount the switch from Conrad (MBF5A) on the driver's side with the white marking facing DOWN, and on the passenger side with the marking facing UP.

In addition to the super glue, the switch can also be secured with a screw.

Have fun and good luck with the installation.

Best regards.

René.
