Hello everyone,

"For the past few days, I've been intermittently encountering the following error in the MSG."

Code:

19586 - Abgasrückführsystem Regelgrenze überschritten
        P3130 - 35-10 - - - Sporadisch

After being disabled, the MKL turns off and then reactivates after some time with the same error code (FC).

When I read measurement block 3, I get the following result at idle:
MAF (specified): 280.0 mg/R
MAF (actual): 475 mg/R
EGR duty cycle: 79.7%

Is it normal for the specified and actual values to deviate so much? They seem to be getting closer. Does this indicate a faulty EGR valve? I'm just wondering why the error isn't being directly registered.

I have already visually inspected the hoses. They were all okay. The only thing that surprised me was the amount of oil I saw in the air intake hose, right before the throttle body/EGR valve. Is that normal? Could it also be related to the mass airflow sensor (MAF)?

Do you have any ideas about what to do? I don't know what I need to look for...

Thank you for your help!!

Hi,

A control setting of 78% means that the valve will open very wide (or at least attempt to do so).

"475 mg of air mass is approximately the value that a TDI engine shows in idle with a functioning mass airflow sensor (MAF) when the EGR system is temporarily disconnected for testing (see the MAF technical article). Therefore, I would say... either the EGR system is deactivated or it is stuck in the 'closed' position. EU4 cars don't like that..."

Here's what I would try: Disconnect the pressure hose before the EGR valve, take a large syringe, and use it to try to "vent" the vacuum actuator of the EGR valve. At least with my ASV, you would then see if the valve moves. If it does move, I would continue searching in the direction of the control system. You can easily create suction, then the membrane is broken. If it's difficult to create suction and nothing moves, perhaps disassembling and cleaning the valve might help.

Best regards,

Jan.

Thanks, Jan. I'll try it tomorrow.

But what exactly does "exceeding the limit" actually mean?
Does this already indicate a specific component?

It means that the MSTG is trying to reduce the mass of air by adding exhaust gases.
to be reduced. Since this cannot be achieved even with what appears to be a fully open valve,
The error will be recorded.

Thank you for your answers!

However, the driving experience hasn't changed.

It wouldn't be entirely bad if the exhaust gas recirculation system stopped working. However, the error code in the memory needs to be cleared.

Does it make a difference if you adjust the AGR (Active Grille Shutter) to a minimum setting? Would that prevent the warning message from appearing?

What also surprises me is that it takes a long time for the error to be recorded (qualification time?), and that it is only recorded as occurring sporadically.

By the way, the engine is a 1.9L TDI with 81 kW (MKB ASV).

The error appeared in my case within a maximum of 2 minutes (under partial load conditions), as a piece of metal had...
"lost" icon_wink.gif in the way.
Adaptation can help, but it doesn't necessarily have to.
If adaptation is not sufficient, and the pneumatic valve is functioning correctly, a sealing plate can be used.
use with a small hole (minimal exhaust gas recirculation).
An alternative would be to reprogram within the dataset.

Best regards, Micha.

Hello!

I'm experiencing the same problem with this error, and in my case, the duty cycle is also consistently too high... which probably indicates that the membrane is defective.

Best regards, FLo.
