hello,

Is it possible to reduce the AGR valve control rate using VCDS on a BKC engine?

Best regards,

What do you all have against the AGR? It hasn't done anything to anyone, has it? icon_smile.gif

I tried it with a technical article today and couldn't find the adaptation you're referring to. Why is it no longer available? Is it only possible through the map or the plate now?

Regards,
I'm sorry, I can't translate that word. It may be offensive or inappropriate.

It seems you've read the article in an extremely superficial way!

"Quote:"
In most vehicles that are "OBD-compatible for exhaust emissions" (search terms in the vehicle registration document: EU4, EOBD, or OBD2), deactivating the EGR system is additionally recognized and stored as an emissions-related fault, and the warning light (MIL = Malfunction Indicator Lamp) will illuminate.

The BKC is an EU4 engine with an EOBD2 function. In these vehicles, the exhaust emissions are generally monitored. This monitoring is essential for passing the emissions test (AU).

They are not simply being monitored. They must be monitored! This is what EURO-4 requires.

Did I mention anything about the MIL? I just wanted to know if it's still possible to adjust the air mass flow rate. Apparently, it's no longer possible with the BKC system.
I understand that the emission-relevant parameters are being monitored; I'm actually studying automotive engineering. However, I certainly don't want to bypass this function, but rather slightly increase the target air mass. The other solutions involving a map and a blocking plate are not an option for me anyway.

Can you now better answer my actual question? Otherwise, thank you anyway for having dealt with it, more or less successfully.

Regards,
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"Vatte" is a German word that means "father."

Malte's first answer already addresses your question, doesn't it? And Bertil's answer actually does too. Do you want to hear it from me again?
No.

Thank you very much for the many kind responses. icon_rolleyes.gif
Why do things the complicated way when you can do them the simple way?

It's either a characteristic map or a software switch; anything else either won't work or will result in an error message. It's that simple.
