WFS Locked Out: Troubleshooting & Solutions

From 2007 onwards, is it possible to program the car's central locking system so that someone can be locked inside the car, but they cannot open it from the inside?

If you could provide the engine control unit (ECU) number, it might be possible to give a more specific answer.

Here's what I can say: The fact that the door cannot be opened from the inside is, in principle, intentionally designed by the manufacturer. Otherwise, burglars could easily unlock the car from the inside through a gap or a slightly open window, etc. This feature is called the "Safe" function. From a theft prevention perspective, it's a positive thing.

Can it be completely disabled? I would only recommend checking the vehicle's onboard network control unit (BCU) using VCDS to see if the safety function can be deactivated, or what happens if you mark it as not installed (keywords: "North American markets," or "double locking not installed").

If you want to control this intentionally: A single press of the lock button on the FFB (Front Front Button) will lock the vehicle and then "secure" it. Pressing the lock button again (within a short time) will "unsecure" it. However, the vehicle will remain locked.

Thank you, Guste. I have observed this issue in 5 different T5 models of various production years.
Of course, breaking a window and then attempting to open it from the inside twice should be prevented.
I'll try using "zu" twice.
