Hello everyone,
This is a supplement to my report dated October 3rd: "Engine control unit defective after 600 km, injectors replaced."
Car: A-Class 170 cdi.
Year of manufacture: 2000; Vehicle identification number: WDB1680081Jxxxxxx.
Mileage: approximately 110,000 km.
We sent the defective engine control unit to a company known through this website for troubleshooting. They replaced the EEPROM. The authorized car repair shop reinstalled the engine control unit and informed us that it was not working. Subsequently, the device was returned to the company, which again detected faulty software. This software was then reset again. The company believes the error lies in an improper variant coding performed by the car repair shop.
The workshop is unable to perform a correct variant encoding.
We are now looking for someone who can provide advice before the workshop ruins the freshly repaired engine control unit again.
Thank you very much in advance to everyone

.
Best regards,
