Hello everyone,
I have a full version of VCDS and I want to replace the engine control unit (ECU) in my Golf IV (my chipped ECU with a stock ECU from a friend who has the same part number).
"Of course, I've already found some guides for this project, but I'm not sure which WFS (Vehicle Security System) I have right now. The original Hatta speedometer had an IMMO 2 system, which I replaced last year with an IMMO 3 speedometer. Does my engine control unit (ECU) have a WFS2 and my instrument cluster (KI) have a WFS3, or how should I interpret that?"
It would be great if someone could give me some tips on this, as I don't really understand how immobilizers work yet.
Best regards,
Daniel.
PS: I'm not sure what data you need right now, so here are a few details about my Volkswagen Golf for you:
GOLF IV Highline
85kW TDI PD
Engine: AJM
Transmission: DRW
Year of manufacture: 2000, Month of manufacture: 2001.

Normally, the Immo 2 MSTG system does not require a login for MSTG access.
Okay, read and save STG 17 adaptation channel 10 and channel 00. VCDS

Normally, with Immo 2 MSTG, there is no login within the MSTG system.
So, read and save channel 00 and adaptation value 10 for STG 17.
STG 17 is the speedometer! Therefore, it's located at address 01 in the main control unit (MSG).

What has nothing to do with the fact that you have to delete the learning values in 01. The MSG then retrieves the data from the speedometer. Without that, it will start and immediately shut off again.

Hi Mulle,
I'm afraid you've got it wrong .
As far as I recall, it's similar to what Sebastian described: the AI learns from the MSTG.

This is possibly the normal case. I personally had approximately 15 cases where it didn't work without learning values in adaptation address 01.

Funny...
Specifically regarding the 85kW PD models (which are... unique )?
I've never had any issues with MSA15, EDC15V, or EDC15P+ (okay, there weren't that many Immo2 systems).
what is reset in the MSTG.

Um, yes. I already found that page http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Immobilizer. But now I want to know which procedure I need to use to configure it.
According to the instructions for WFS2 or WFS3.
MSTG has the number:
038 906 019 CJ
AI:
VDO part number 1J5 920 826 C.
I need the login codes for both STGs for WFS3, which I don't have yet. It would be bad if it then stopped working; I need it to commute to work, and my friend does too.
Best regards,
Daniel

Only the speedometer is the WFSIII. The pairing process should follow the standard procedure for WFS II!

hello
I've noticed that my cruise control is no longer working since I installed the new MSTG (module). Do I need to re-calibrate it, or does the new module not support the cruise control?
I'm sorry, I'm typing on my phone, so I can only use lowercase letters.
best regards, daniel

Do you need to activate it if the old vehicle didn't have it?
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate into English. MfG. Michael

ok. thank you.
Are there any other things I need to specifically teach the car? Regarding future servicing, etc. I thought all of that would be stored in the combined instruction manual.
