1.9 TDI suddenly lost power and has an unstable idle

"Yesterday evening, I finally got the 1Z engine running in my T4. It was running quite well, until now. I was planning to take it for a wheel alignment. I was driving on a detour and accelerated. Then, at around 100 km/h, the power suddenly cut out. I pressed the clutch and let it coast. The idle was rough, and it wouldn't move even a meter."

It also struggles to accelerate properly due to the engine's occasional misfires. Sometimes it runs smoothly, but when you try to accelerate or start moving, it runs unevenly and stalls.

What could be the reason for that?

Check the error memory. There might be air in the fuel lines.

The error memory will not be read until tomorrow. Unfortunately, I don't have an OBD cable.
