Hello,
I need a used fuel injection pump for an Audi A3 manufactured in 1999 with a 1.9 TDI engine (ALH) and manual transmission.
The original pump has the part number 038130107J, but according to the spare parts catalog, it is intended for automatic transmissions.
Then there's also this number:
038130107D - According to the spare parts catalog dated March 1, 2004, this part is discontinued; use 038130107K as a replacement.
According to the spare parts catalog dated March 1, 2005, part number 038130107K is discontinued; use part number 038130107KX as a replacement.
038130107KX - According to the spare parts catalog, this is an injection pump for engines with AGR (Abgasrückführung), AHF, and ASV designations; it's also compatible with manual transmissions (ALH).

Can someone tell me if I'm allowed to take any of these four?

Thank you very much.

No, the automatic pump has a larger piston of 11mm in the manifold body.
"That won't work like that. However, in my opinion, you can simply replace the high-pressure part from your old pump if it's still in good condition and the defect lies elsewhere."

Hello,
How is it possible that an automatic pump is installed even though it's not an automatic system?
The old pump is leaking from every seam.
Something is wrong.
Or was the part number not transcribed correctly? icon_confused.gif
That's my father's car, and he read the part number. He said it was quite difficult; he had to do it with all sorts of mirrors. "Hater" didn't see correctly.

Then just seal it. A set of seals costs about €15, depending on the source. I wouldn't throw away a pump that otherwise functions properly.

It looks like a police car was driving in front of you.

I went to a workshop, and they said it's not possible to fix the leak at that specific location.
I've never done anything like that before in my life. I usually do almost everything on my car myself, but this is something I'm too afraid to try.

That's because they simply don't have the desire and/or knowledge to do it. You can replace all the seals on a VP37 if you know how.

I overlooked the fact that it's a switch; I only read about the automatic pump.

The problem usually occurs when a vehicle has been running on biodiesel and then switched back to regular diesel. The biodiesel draws the plasticizers out of the seals, but at the same time keeps them soft, which initially makes the pump leak-proof. When you switch back to diesel, the biodiesel is flushed out, and then the pump starts to leak.
