Hello
I have already posted something about this topic a few weeks ago:
/viewtopic.php?t=23796
Finally, I thought the problem was somewhere in the diesel supply system, because there were/are always problems after it had been standing for a while. 'Eventually, the pressure in my head starts to subside, and therefore, the engine doesn't get the initial fuel injection.'
Subsequently, I first replaced the filter and checked the hoses (plus tank ventilation). The diesel in the filter was very clear (presumably the side-mounted pump was also okay?!) and the filter also looked quite good (81,000 km indicated on the service booklet, but that doesn't always mean anything), nevertheless, it was replaced...
The pressure gauge on the tandem pump still shows everything is okay (I haven't been able to test this in the previous topic...). It's just the question of when is it acceptable for the car to sag down so much? VW doesn't provide any information on this, are there any experience values available?
However, what I think is also against the diesel problem is that I worked on the car yesterday evening (inside) and turned on the auxiliary heater because it was so cold. The charging device was connected to the battery for about 1 hour because the car had been standing for about 3 weeks. At the starting time (11:00), there were 11.4 volts on the battery. Finally, I plugged in and started the VCDS: Insert key, wait briefly, start = perfect start, just like any gasoline engine... At that point, the coolant temperature was approximately 64°...
In my opinion, this should rather indicate a problem with the heating system (although it also seems sluggish even at +20°C).
Still, no errors detected in the control unit. The temperature sensors all show +0.5°C, and the two pressure sensors are approximately 7 meters apart when stationary...
I simply logged the MWB 13;23;18 at the start... but in my opinion, that's perfectly fine!
I'm honestly not sure what to do anymore... Without preheating, this thing starts much worse than our 30-year-old tractor at -5°C... The engine cranks, but occasionally it takes 2 turns before it starts, and it still takes about 5 seconds to get it going after that. However, there are no unusual smoke clouds emanating from it.
I would really appreciate any information.
Marc
edit: can the engine be relatively easily made to run solely by the starter without injecting/starting? Due to start speed measurement...

First, it might be worth trying the current state.
trying it on the MSG - this change was actually implemented
precisely in this direction, due to 'isolated start-up problems'
Currently, at the moment: 4344
Start Drehzahl: Is it simply a matter of turning the plug off the PDEs?

Hello
aha, that sounds promising... just now, someone in a Touran forum emailed me, who has essentially the same problem, and VW already replaced the spark plugs, but it didn't help...
Wie kann man das Update am besten durchführen? Einfach laufen und sagen 'Mach mal Update'? Dann werden sie wohl nicht funktionieren, besonders da das Auto zum ersten Mal bei VW in der Werkstatt ist. Is it 'free' or does it cost something?

It depends on you, your demeanor, your negotiating skills, and your counterpart.
Outside of the GU, anyone can calculate whatever they want, depending on whether it's a fixed or time-dependent calculation.
Often, a good conversation with the offer can also help, followed by regular communication.
to attend the inspection appointment there and then, and to actually do so.
As always: 'You are like me, and I am like you...'

Hiho
Nun, mal sehen...
Are there any technical details about the update, besides the fact that the device can turn off the valve (perhaps also due to the nozzles)?

My father's Passat BMN broke down two weeks ago on the highway. The engine stopped and wouldn't start. The mechanic's diagnosis: a PDE is defective. This was replaced and since then it has been running smoothly and also starting much better. ...
There was still a good 70% goodwill on the part, the car is 4 years old, with 160,000 km.
