Hello,
The search didn't give me any real answers, but maybe I didn't use the right keywords.
So:
What does the size designation in older magnetic permanent deflection tubes (PDEs), such as 530, 550, etc., represent? Specifically, what measurement method is used to determine this number, and what is its unit?
As far as I know, for VP-DHK (presumably referring to a specific type of nozzle), it's simply the injection hole diameter in micrometers.
Regarding the PDE (Piezo Direct Injector), I'm still thinking about the flow rate per unit of time, but to get the PDE to inject fuel, it requires two types of control signals in addition to the injection pressure (which delivers the diesel fuel to the PDE):
a) mechanically to move the plunger = lifting stroke.
b) electrically, to define the portion of the lifting stroke used for injection.
Since variations in both the clock rate (injections per unit of time) and any variations of a) or, especially, b) can alter the dispensed volume per unit of time, a standard measurement procedure should be established, and I am interested in knowing what that procedure is.
The context is software comparisons of engines with different partial discharge (PD) systems, specifically focusing on the OEM's (Original Equipment Manufacturer's) support duration under full load conditions. Gruß Ulf

No.
Best regards, Rainer.

Here are the characteristic values for the hydraulic flow rate of the nozzle tips. This refers to the volumetric flow rate in cm3 that passes through the nozzle every 30 seconds, using a test oil (oil at 40°C and 100 bar, according to ISO 4113).
The same procedure applies to the VP injection nozzles. For example, the HD (hydraulic diameter) for the DSLA150P764 nozzles is 570 cm3. The numerical value "764" in the nozzle designation is simply a sequential drawing number and has nothing to do with the size of the injection hole diameters.
For CR injectors, similar conditions apply, but here, the measurement is taken at 60 seconds with a needle stroke of 0.7 mm.
