Hello.

Is there a way to test the temperature gauge that's located in the dashboard to see if it's working properly?
For example, unplugging a connector and bridging it with a wire, which can cause the display to go into the red zone!
Or with a program?

Thank you, and best regards from Kiel, from Mark.

Hi.

"As is, where is" or "Without warranty."

Connect various resistors (or a potentiometer) to the input terminal and observe the display.
240 Ohms ≈ 60°
100 Ohms ≈ 90°
47 Ohms ≈ 120°

The stepper motor displays have an IMO idiotic "centering function" at 90°C, meaning that between approximately 80 and 100° (real temperature), the pointer is stuck at 90 icon_evil.gif.

@vwgolfIII

Buy a repair manual with the motto 'now I'll help myself,' and you'll find everything in it, from the resistance curve to checking the display device!
If I weren't so lazy, I would have typed it out, but on the other hand, you can also invest in a little bit of know-how sometimes! icon_smile.gif

with a VAG1552!
You need to compare the temperatures in the engine control unit (ECU) and the shift table.
They must be identical!

Hello.

Thank you for the tips.

@ tora

Where can I find the designation '1552' in VCDS, or where do I need to enter '1552'?

Thank you, and best regards, Mark.

icon_lol.gif Tora refers to the device as 'VAG 1552'. That's the name VW uses for the box. VAG-COM emulates this device. I think you should just take a look at the measuring blocks; there are often 'coolant temperature' readings there. Also, check the error database...
