Hello.

My car is shaking when idling, and it doesn't always start well when it's warm.
Now, while logging data from the MWB4, I noticed that when it experiences more intense vibrations, the injection timing shifts to 6-7° BTDC (Before Top Dead Center).

Ist das normal oder kann die Pumpe einen weghabe, bzw. kommt das Signal irgendwo anders her? NHG etc...

Engine: 2.5 V6 TDI, engine code: BDG, mileage: 120,000 km.

Best regards, Steffen.

Are you in the measurement block or the basic settings? If the engine is at least 80 degrees Celsius, you can check the pump setting in the basic settings, for example, after a timing belt replacement. The value should then be 2° after top dead center (OT), plus or minus 1.5°.

It's in the main menu, not in the default settings.
In its default setting, it runs perfectly smoothly, with no stuttering or glitches, and remains stable up to an angle of 6-7 degrees.

When I exit the basic settings mode, the RPM drops to 740, it starts to sputter again, and I experience those jumps of 6-7 degrees.

Do the actual values come from the needle displacement sensor?

Hi,
Just to be sure - is the setpoint constant, while the actual value "jumps"? What does the duty cycle do?

Yes, the target value remains at 2.2-2.4, but the actual value shows 1.8-2°, while intermittently displaying a value of 6.6°.

Hi,
You can't read anything properly here. You have to save the file as a CSV and leave it unchanged.
But to get to the core of it - what does the duty cycle do?
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"vg"

This is a common abbreviation for "very good" in German. It is often used in online forums and chat rooms.

It always stays at 100.2.
Even if you go all the way to the top of my thread to download?
I converted the file using the log converter.
Everything is working perfectly in my Excel.

Hi,
Quote:
This always remains at 100.2
, which means that the ECB's regulation in the LL (Liquidity Lending Facility) is already at its maximum limit.
Please don't take offense to my questions. Are you sure you have the correct calibration map selected? Have you completed the actuator diagnosis?
To determine the actual EZP (likely referring to a specific parameter), the signal from the NHG (likely a sensor or component) is used. The MSG (likely a controller or module) regulates the system to the target value.

Subtract the NHG (natural health group) amount and observe the resulting value.

Hello Herbert,

I'm sure of that.
I start VCDS, then go to "Engine Electronics," "Measuring Blocks," and then select "004."
What happened again?
Engine warmed up, water temperature 90°C.
Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English. I will then provide the translation without any explanations.

I haven't done anything to the pump yet, or adjusted anything.

Best regards, Steffen.

edit: I did another one. Once it's warmed up and the RPM settles down to the idle speed after reaching a higher RPM, the duty cycle goes back to 100.2.

Good evening.

Can someone tell me if it's normal for the duty cycle to be 100.2% when the engine is idling, or is something defective or incorrectly adjusted?

It's not normal to have a permanently displayed 100% traction value. Please check what TDI-GTI-4-Motion wrote.

Okay, here I am again.
I disconnected the needle lifter while the engine was still warm.
The duty cycle remained at 100.2% in this case as well. It settles back to that value after 5-10 seconds when the engine is idling.
In the end, I reconnected the NHG, and after that, the actual values started showing the -6.6° jumps again.

Then I created another log during the trip.
"Sometimes, you also get some strange values, right?"
At 57.12 seconds, the target value is -4.6, the actual value is 0.6, and the threshold is 100.2.
73.16s Target -13.8, Actual 0.2

Strange...

The current air-fuel ratio indicates to me that the ESP (Electronic Spark Advance) is misadjusted. If you advance the timing, it should improve.
The jerks, on the other hand, could be caused by a stuck injection control valve piston. Unfortunately, the only solution in this case is to replace or repair the pump.

But shouldn't the default setting tell me that the values are outside the tolerance range?
"So, it won't be the NHG (National Health Insurance) with those fluctuating values, right?"

The pump was refurbished in November 2010.
It was a service technician from Bosch.
